Colin Stansfield is the Executive Director of the Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Organization (SCREDO), representing the Town of Gibsons, the District of Sechelt, the Sechelt Indian Government District, and the Sunshine Coast Regional District.

Established to strengthen local companies, inspire investment and promote regional cooperation, SCREDO is the economic engine for the Sunshine Coast’s businesses, investors and citizens. As Executive Director, Colin leads SCREDO’s team of business and community development contractors across four broad program areas: Business Retention and Expansion, Workforce Development, Community, and Resources and Infrastructure. This dynamic team works collaboratively to position the Sunshine Coast as a sustainable, thriving and diverse local economy that is aligned with community values, expands opportunities for all residents and improves overall community wellbeing.

A passionate advocate for using business as a force for good, Colin has worked with small and medium enterprises and regional trade associations across the province, advancing economic policy that supports triple-bottom line development. A recognized leader in British Columbia’s growing social-economy, Stansfield has worked with notable organizations including RADIUS at Simon Fraser University, Ecotrust Canada, Potluck Café, PURPPL, and the BC Partners for Social Impact. Most recently he served as Executive Director for the Gibsons Community Building Society, overseeing the launch and development of Gibsons Public Market and the Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre.

Colin has an International Relations degree from the University of British Columbia, and an MBA from Simon Fraser University’s Segal Graduate School of Business where he studied social innovation and applied ethics and was awarded the A. John Ellis Graduate Scholarship. Colin lives in Gibsons Landing with his wife and two young daughters.
